Llogora Pass, Albania
Llogora Pass is a favourite scenic stop for Albanians to admire the view, take a photo and purchase local honey. One of contributing factors of under development and tribalism in the Balkans has been the lack of transport infrastucture. With no inland river system, huge areas have remained relatively isolated for centuries. The mountainous region prevented any serious railway lines and roads from being constructed. Only in the last 5 years have a solid network of roads been built which is helping bring prosperity and stability to the region. This image is from a larger ongoing body of work investigating the new corridors throught the Balkans.
